How do I practice green computing?

Nowadays, many of the technologies we use every day consume a lot more resources and power than they need to. However, in our daily life we need to use it and can’t avoid it so I always do the best practice to reduce power consumption and saving more money as possible as I can. These are some way that I practice green computing.

First, when I choose printer, computer, monitor or laptop, I always buy “Energy star” labeled. Energy star can help savings on annual utility bills. Moreover, by using less energy to operate, Energy star certified homes help to prevent air pollution and also reducing the amount of energy you use.

Second, I always put laptop in “sleep” mode when not in use. This can reduce their energy use by 60 to 70 percent and ultimately could save enough electricity each year. Third, using LED monitors instead of LCD monitor and it can save more cost and energy. Even the price of LED is more expensive than LCD but the electricity bill of LED is cheaper than LCD monitors.

Let’s help our World together!!!!
